Huntcliff at Saltburn Saltburn by the Sea was founded by Henry Pease, a Victorian entrepreneur. Mr Pease was born of the family that founded the Stockton and Darlington railway and the town Middlesbrough. His dream for Saltburn comprised a Railway Station, the Zetland Hotel, the Cliff Lift and Pier, Valley Gardens, and finally the Jewel Street dwellings, including Ruby Street, home of Brydene. The Pease family set 'the Pease Brick' into many of the homes in Saltburn with their name Pease baked into the bricks used to construct the houses.
